Proposed Integrated Renewable Energy Project Details
It is proposed is to set up a Integrated Renewable Energy project comprising of Wind & Bio-Diesel(Jatropha) plantations in Satara District, Maharastra, starting with 100MW in Stage I and 200MW in Stage-II, to harness the wind energy & bio-diesel potential on commercial terms. The energy generated from this wind farm would be sold to MSEDCL through a power purchase agreement and separate arrangement for bio-diesel oil extraction and sale.


The scope of the project involves the following:
a. Setting up 100MW under Stage I and 200MW in Stage-II.


b. Connecting all WEGs in a pool by means of 33 KV overhead transmission lines in the wind farm and terminating it at the nearest substation of MSEDCL located in Debewadi, Satara District located at a distance of about 4kms from the project site.


c. To develop integrated Wind Farm & bio-diesel plantations and allied projects in the same location under Stage I & II.


Location & Site
The composite identified site for the proposed wind farm project is in the hilly plains of Satara District, Maharastra and exercise is underway to acquire upto 1500-2000 acres for Stage I & II. RS India Wind Energy Pvt Ltd has finalized acquisition of 1000acres of land and remaining 500 acres land acquisition is at advanced stage.

The site soil conditions are suitable for construction of WEG tower foundation and other buildings. The soil is mainly rocky and uneven typical of Deccan Plateau hillocks/ mountain nature. Earlier the wind mast site was located at Verekarwadi is N 17 o 13’ E 73o 59’
